Join us on a fascinating tour to Homer’s School, an ancient site dating back over 3,000 years. Given its remarkable age and Ithaca’s central role in Homer’s Odyssey, many believe this could be the original Palace of Odysseus.
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Vathi to Stavros, offering breathtaking views of the channel between Ithaca and Kefalonia. In Stavros Square, we’ll introduce you to Homer, the Odyssey, and the island’s legendary past, setting the stage for the journey ahead.
From there, we visit Polis Bay, where we’ll uncover the strategic significance of this ancient settlement, discussing the trade, wealth, and piracy that shaped its history.
Next, we embark on a 3 km walk to the Palace of Odysseus, delving into life in ancient Ithaca along the way. At the entrance, we’ll step into a key scene from the Odyssey, bringing the epic to life.
